Artemisinin IV/IM Therapy

Artemisinin (Artemisia annua) is derived from extracts of sweet wormwood and is well established for the treatment of malaria (including highly drug-resistant strains) and has shown potent and broad anticancer properties. Its efficacy also extends to phylogenetically unrelated infections including anti-SARS/Coronavirus effects. It is important to note that it was not specifically to the novel COVID-19 virus, but still within the same class.

Artemisia (Artemisinin) itself is not generally highly potent and cannot be regarded as a cure. Nevertheless, it can be used as a complementary treatment that may elevate recovery rates when combine with other treatments. This is primarily due to its natural anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory properties. That being said, Artemisinin can be given intravenously once per week for 4 weeks as an immune boosting measure. This can also be given intramuscularly three times per week for 4 weeks to achieve similar effects (of course not as potent as the IV, however, since volume-wise IM injections must be dosed much lower).
