CNS Vital Signs® Neurocognitive Testing

Know Your Brain. Track Your Performance. Protect Your Future.

Your brain is your most valuable asset. CNS Vital Signs® is a clinically validated, computerized neurocognitive assessment that helps us measure key areas of brain performance—quickly, objectively, and repeatably.

Whether you’re optimizing longevity, recovering from stress or injury, or simply want a baseline “brain score,” this test gives you real data you can track over time.

Best for: high performers, executives, athletes, patients with brain fog, sleep issues, mood concerns, concussion history, long-COVID symptoms, metabolic dysfunction, and anyone committed to proactive brain health.

What CNS Vital Signs Measures

CNS Vital Signs evaluates multiple cognitive domains, including:

  • Memory (verbal and visual)
  • Processing Speed
  • Executive Function (planning, flexibility, decision-making)
  • Attention & Focus
  • Reaction Time
  • Cognitive Flexibility
  • Psychomotor Speed
  • Complex Attention

You’ll receive a clear report with domain scores, percentile rankings, and flags when results fall outside expected ranges for age.

Why Neurocognitive Testing Matters

Many people feel “off” before anything shows up on basic labs. Neurocognitive testing helps identify patterns that can be associated with:

  • Brain fog and decreased mental stamina
  • Sleep deprivation and circadian disruption
  • Chronic stress / burnout
  • Hormone imbalance (thyroid, testosterone/estrogen, cortisol dysregulation)
  • Nutrient deficiencies or inflammation
  • Concussion or head injury history
  • Metabolic issues (insulin resistance)
  • Medication effects
  • Post-viral syndromes (including long-COVID)

This isn’t a diagnosis by itself—it’s objective performance data that helps guide the right next steps.

Who Should Consider This Test?

Consider CNS Vital Signs if you:

  • Want a baseline brain health score for longevity tracking
  • Feel brain fog, poor concentration, or memory issues
  • Are experiencing burnout, chronic stress, or mood changes
  • Have sleep problems and want measurable impact
  • Have a history of concussion / TBI (even years ago)
  • Are optimizing performance for demanding work or athletics
  • Want to track progress during a treatment plan

What the Visit Looks Like

We review your goals, symptoms, relevant history, and contributing factors (sleep, stress, hormones, metabolic health, medications, lifestyle).

You’ll complete a series of computerized tasks in a quiet setting. No needles. No imaging. Just performance-based measurement.

We interpret your score profile and connect it to your clinical picture—then build a targeted plan to improve and track outcomes.

How We Use Results to Personalize Your Plan

Depending on your results, we may recommend:

  • Sleep optimization (tracking, coaching, supplements, or medical therapy when appropriate)
  • Hormone optimization (thyroid, testosterone/estrogen balance, cortisol rhythm support)
  • Metabolic optimization (glucose control, weight, inflammation, cardiovascular risk)
  • Nutrient and inflammation labs (B12, folate, vitamin D, iron studies, omega status, hs-CRP, homocysteine, etc.)
  • Brain-healthy performance protocols (exercise, nutrition, stress resilience, focus training)
  • Targeted therapies based on your needs and medical history

We can also repeat testing at intervals to objectively measure improvement—not just “how you feel,” but how your brain performs.

Baseline + Retesting: Track What Matters

One of the biggest advantages of CNS Vital Signs is repeatability. We commonly test:

  • Baseline
  • 8–12 weeks after intervention changes
  • Quarterly or biannually for high performers or longevity tracking

This creates a measurable, personalized cognitive trendline over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not exactly. This is a neurocognitive performance assessment. It can reveal areas of strength and weakness, and it can be helpful for early detection patterns, but it is not a stand-alone diagnostic tool for dementia.

Yes—avoid heavy caffeine changes, get a normal night of sleep if possible, and take your medications as prescribed unless we advise otherwise. We’ll give you a short prep checklist.

Our practice is private pay. We focus on high-touch, proactive care and objective outcomes. We’ll provide a superbill if appropriate, but coverage varies by plan.

Most sessions take 30–45 minutes, plus time for results review and planning.
