Growth Hormone Therapy

Introduction to Growth Hormone Therapy

Growth Hormone is produced by the pituitary gland. As a child and adolescent, it is necessary for normal growth development of the entire body. As an adult, Human Growth Hormone continues to produce multiple anti-aging effects in the body.

    Health Benefits of Growth Hormone

  • Increased Energy
  • Increased Muscle and Bone Mass
  • Optimized Immunity
  • Improved Recovery and Sleep
  • Fat Loss
  • Mental Clarity and Improved Moods
  • Skin Improvements
  • Enhanced Libido & Sexual Desire

Symptoms of Low Growth Hormone

  • Anxiety and/or depression
  • Hair Loss
  • Decrease in sexual function and interest
  • Decreased muscle mass and strength
  • Difficult to concentration and lack of memory
  • Dry, thin skin
  • Elevated triglyceride levels
  • Fatigue and/or tiredness
  • Heart problems
  • High levels of LDL (the "bad") cholesterol
  • Insulin resistance
  • Lower tolerance to exercise
  • Reduced bone density
  • Sensitivity to heat and cold
  • Very low energy levels
  • Weight gain, especially around the waist

What Are the Treatments for Growth Hormone Deficiency?

At The Hormone Zone, we always look at your hormonal issues comprehensively. We also continually seek to provide the most advanced and innovative hormone replacement options. Growth Hormone deficiency can be due to many factors, including nutritional and lifestyle habits. In some cases, Growth Hormone levels can be enhanced by guiding you in improving their nutrition and lifestyle. We can also assess the type of exercise you engage in, leading you to improved outcomes in the gym but also an enhancement in Growth Hormone levels.

However, even if all of the lifestyle changes are made, proper medical intervention may be necessary to improve your results. We will monitor your blood levels of IGF1, the main storage component of human growth hormone, along with other important parameters, and determine if you need additional medical intervention.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy

If a Growth Hormone Deficiency is suspected, the first area of health to enhance is testosterone levels. Almost invariably, if growth hormone is deficient or suspected to be deficient, then testosterone levels will also be deficient. Whether through herbal approaches, lifestyle changes, and dietary and exercise improvements, or actual Testosterone Replacement Therapy, the testosterone hormone naturally stimulates the pituitary to synthesize more Human Growth Hormone, making this one of the first places to start therapeutically. However, if after several weeks to months of medically supervised testosterone enhancement, and growth hormone levels have not risen considerably, and/or symptoms still remain, direct enhancement of growth hormone should be considered.

Peptide Therapy

One of the most exciting and innovative therapies offered at The Hormone Zone is Peptide Therapy. Small amino acid chains, combined in specific sequences, create a simple, yet profound “peptide” that communicates with your pituitary to naturally create and secrete Growth Hormone on its own.

There is copious research supporting the safety and effectiveness of Peptide Therapy. When used to stimulate natural human growth hormone, patients reap all the benefits with little to no side effects in comparison to conventional Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Therapy. These small peptides gently, yet powerfully stimulate the body to create the hormone on its own.

Dr. Robinson and Dr. Bosch have researched and studied peptides extensively and personally believe they will be the wave of the future as more and more Restorative and Age Management Physicians use this therapy with their patients.

Some of the Peptides used at The Hormone Zone:

Sermorelin: A classic peptide shown to increase IGF1 levels modestly. At The Hormone Zone, we currently have limited our prescribing of this peptide because we have discovered others that are far more effective. It is placed here for clarification, because it is a very typical peptide used for Growth Hormone enhancement.

CJC-1295: One of the most potent secretagogues (i.e. a substance that naturally stimulates a gland to ‘secrete’ a hormone) for the pituitary gland, CJC 1295 stimulates growth hormone secretion maintaining a steady increase of Growth Hormone and IGF-I. This assists fat loss and increased protein synthesis stimulating muscle and tissue growth. CJC 1295 also promotes slow-wave sleep, also known as deep sleep, the portion of sleep responsible for the highest level of muscle growth, recovery, and memory retention.

Ipamorelin: This peptide is known as a selective GH-secretagogue. Unlike other GH-secretagogues, it does not release the same volumes of cortisol, acetylcholine, prolactin and aldosterone.

At The Hormone Zone, we will often prescribe CJC-195 and Ipamorelin together, to provide the best stimulation for natural growth hormone production.

Exogenous Human Growth Hormone Replacement

When necessary, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Therapy is one of the most effective ways to enhance growth hormone and IGF1 levels. As patients get older, typically over 65 to 70 years of age, Peptide Therapy may have more limited effects, although it is still effective. But for those patients who do not respond to Peptide Therapy adequately, then exogenous Human Growth Hormone Replacement is an excellent choice. Very small amounts of human growth hormone are injected nightly to enhance IGF1 levels. You will be closely monitored to find the best dose for you.
